It has been very quiet from a wildlife point of view so far this year, although I did get a chance to go out with my camera in the snow as you can see below.
There are, however, signs that spring is on the way! The days are getting just a little longer and last weekend we walked through a small swarm of gnats - as our little Grandson delighted in pointing out to us by spinning his arm in circles and going 'Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz'. I am afraid he will probably inherit my fascination with all things living - apologies to Naomi and David!
As well as being a bit late in getting back to this blog, I am also running out of time to put together my exotic wildlife talk and presentation! Only about 3 weeks to go until my first talk of the year, and several others already booked for this year! I still get a real kick out of being able to stand up and talk to 50-60 people when I used to be reduced to a quivering wreck at the prospect of speaking in front of half a dozen! How one can change given the motivation and the chance!
For those interested, I am currently booked for talks in Westbourne, Mudeford, West Moors and New Milton!
Hopefully next time I sit here, I will have some new wildlife shots to show as our garden, and indeed our home starts to come to life!
Food - a favourite topic!
Want to get your kids (or yourself!) to eat more vegetables? Spicy bean burgers are easy to make, tasty and go with so many things! Also, Turkish Rice Pilaff with chick peas and apricots. These foods really bring healthy food to life! Give em a try - ask me for the recipes if you want them!
I will finish with a few things that make me mad!
People who park on the pavement, and councils who ignore the problem.
People who seem to think that hazard warning lights make it legal to park ANYWHERE!!
How so many British parents have forgotten how to teach their children decent behaviour in restaurants.
People who talk loudly - please believe me, you are mostly boring and the general population really don't want to know!
Bus drivers who can only pull into spaces diagonally. I know that sometimes parked cars make this unavoidable, but often there is no excuse. You are supposed to be professional drivers!
End of soap box session for now!
Watch this space! Back soon!
